Way to aleviate …
Way to aleviate these men of ANY responsibility! They have absolutely NO control over their actions because they’re SOOOOO sex-crazed!

The woman at the …
The woman at the end states: “we are so irrelevant. That is why a black woman can be raped”. I am a white male & I am appalled at this thought. I never thought that black women (or any women) “could be raped”. In fact the thought didn’t even cross my mind until I heard her say it. Then I was like, Huh?

SMUT MEDIA, ie: …
MEDIA, ie: Mainstream Media FLOOD our culture with titillating seduction …. man can only take so much brainscrews before the weakest to it begin to rage in violence and perpetrate crimes of , anger, power and hate.

Even the fashions women wear, from little 4 year old girls to teens to 50 year olds, half of them look like street walkers. Hard to tell the difference who the street walkers are on any given Sat. night. These issues pressure depraved men, who don’t know God.

In other countries …
In other countries they provide a tampon sized device a woman can insert in her vagina. If raped, the device is triggered and clamps onto the penis, causing great pain, and need for surgical removal! I WISH THEY WERE OFFERED IN USA!!!

As a white woman …
As a white woman over 30 who has never experienced any form of sexual ault, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who worked on this project. I am now better equipped to cooperate in rejecting both racism AND sexism, by seeing their overlap.
THANK YOU ALL!

You are irrelevant …
You are irrelevant only because you are the ones being racist. You are saying Whites are irrelevant by focusing only on Black woman who are raped. The problem is Black men who are violent and you are afraid to deal with that issue because you are racist. Blacks are violent, primarily, due to our racist, liberal society that refuses to hold Blacks accountable for ignorant, racist, violent views and actions.

stopracismnow July 3rd, 2009

You are the ones …
You are the ones being racist. Crying about Black on Black rape. It’s not just Blacks being raped; guess what? Whites are being raped too. Ladon Stephens raped and killed, ONLY, White children in Portland Oregon for over a decade! He was caught 6 months after raping and killing Melissa Bitler (another white child) and this case received no press coverage! The reason is a racist, liberal society that refuses to see Blacks as equal or to hold them to the same level of responsibilities as a White.

tinastavropoulos July 3rd, 2009

p.s. I actually …
p.s. I actually have heard of the Fathers for Justice movement and I think it’s a commendable project, but I don’t see what it has to do with the issue that Aishah is discussing. I think that most people who are concerned about issues like rape and discrimination, would understand and sympathize with the plight of fathers who are not considered by the justice system, but that is not her project.

tinastavropoulos July 3rd, 2009

I understand your …
I understand your frustration on one level, but I think it’s important that we realize that Aishah is talking about how the rape of African American women by African American men in particular is silenced because of black/white relations in the U.S., the position (historically & currently) of African American women in the US, the shame of rape, etc. A film could also be made about the rape of men by women or other men, etc. but that is not her project. Why do you consider her film to be sexist?

boobiesmakemesmile06 July 3rd, 2009

yeah but all saying …
yeah but all saying how bad other men are…
if a woman wants a fair non-sexist comunity, then EVERYTHING should be equal, go read the fathers for justice adobe document, it brings alot to mind about how sexist it REALLY is.
also watch a few other vids and see that its allways a woman, thing is, i admit, there are more females that get raped, but hey, why dont we just ignore child abuse sinse its uncommon.

tinastavropoulos July 3rd, 2009

You obviously need …
You obviously need to see the entire documentary. Aishah DOES include male perspectives in her film, such as representatives from Men Stopping Violence. (Note the man speaking in this trailer.)

boobiesmakemesmile06 July 3rd, 2009

never any males in …
never any males in these vids, the only males are the rapists agains woman, its bullshit, i wish some er would even give a about men, instead of just turning men into the big bad rapists every ing vid, its annoying.

We are sponsoring a screening of the documentary here in Baton Rouge on Saturday, April 28th at the Eden Park Branch Library. The screening will start at 1:00 p.m. and we will have a question/answer session following the viewing. As a teacher, a crisis counselor and a survivor of rape, I felt it was my duty after finding out about this film to do whatever I could to make sure it was shown in my community. It’s time to speak out against sexual violence…period.
